Scramble For Kids

Last Year’s Scamble for Kids raised over $17,000 towards the construction of a new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Suits to care for the highest and most fragile newborn infants born in the region. Each suite will provide the very latest life-saving technology and specially trained pediatric intensivists, nurses, and therapists. (The Children's Hospital has the outstanding reputation of being the number one NICU Center in the state of Florida for low infant mortality or morbidity.) Contrary to the NICU suites in most of today's hospitals, each room will be private and will be large enough for the equipment, and to accommodate parents and grandparents visiting and staying with their child or grandchild during this very critical time. It is estimated that the specialized incubator, respirator/ventilator, and monitors will range between $300,000 and $500,000 per NICU Suite. We invite individual donors, businesses, and special event organizers to earmark and pledge their support to help the Children's Hospital create these NICU suites, and provide lifesaving care close to home for nearly 500 infants each year.

INAUGURAL SCRAMBLE FOR KIDS RAISES $17,059.00

    The inaugural Alico Commercial Group Scramble for Kids was a huge success! We have pledged all proceeds for the next 5 years towards the construction of a NICU suite at the Southwest Florida Children’s Hospital. In our inaugural year, we are happy to report that the event raised over $17,000.00 towards this pledge!

    We want to thank all of our sponsors for the unconditional support, and of course all of our great participants, volunteers, and club staff for the day. Although the weather was typically hot for mid June, the turnout for the tournament was wonderful and everyone seemed to have a great time. The lunch and entertainment following the golf game was excellent thanks to Merlo, Executive Chef at Old Corkscrew Golf Club, and the bidding wars on our fabulous silent auction items went extremely well.

    Our Net winners for the first year was the team of Franz Rosinus, Jorge Guzman, Itay Shimony, and Brian Schwartz.

    The Gross trophies went out the the team of Cecil Pendergrass, Brandan Pendergrass, Jerry Leonard, and Jimmy Langton.

    Congratulations to both teams!

    We hope to to see all our great supporters back again next year.
